The knitter's dilemna.
This is where you start several projects, intending to trade off and finish them all, but alas and alack, you will soon have UFO's.
I suggest knitting something for yourself or of your choice in-between gifts and maybe asking those askers to pay for the yarn. And choose good yarn, not Red Heart. After all it takes the same amount of time to knit with good quality materials as cheap acrylic.

Solid black is a nightmare. Go forth at your own risk.

Socks are not for beginners, but soon you can try a pair. I have a pattern called Bare Bones, which allows you to work with any yarn and size it to the person going to wear the socks.
Oh and yes, hand knit socks feel the absolute best on your feet.

Thanks so much for responding to my blog. I haven't figured out any other way to answer you but here yet. it makes all the difference knowing someone reads it and cares.

I crocheted (very poor crocheter) a sweater for Magoo but since his chest is so big the rest of it hangs on him. Couldn't taper it and still get it over his head.Susan (and SmokeyBlue in spirit)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15600529191882073624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4259865948511087518.post-20593569748769386802016-02-17T19:38:20.281-05:002016-02-17T19:38:20.281-05:00Magoo. Reading your story made me feel happy for Magoo and you and me, too!

Pretty Purple Socks. I am only now learning how to knit and haven't tried stocks yet (my first project was a hat and I just completed a beginner's pattern for a little dog sweater for my best friend's beloved Toy Poodle, Annie).

I love your socks, and your playful purple composition! I can only wonder if hand knit socks feel any differently than store bought. I'm looking forward to finding out but it may be a bit since three people have made requests for me to knit them something:

* a male friend asks for a Shetland wool scarf in black 8x60 (wow, so specific)

* a female friend that I Skype with regularly and who lives in Egypt asked me to model my hat for her. She then excitedly asked me to make an identical one for her for when she visits the states in winter.

* my best friend has a friend that loved the dog sweater I knit for Annie and asks if I could make one for her little Bison Frise, Sophie.

Since I am a brand new knitter, all these requests have surprised, delighted and overwhelmed me a bit. Now, I'm wondering whether to move forward and knit what pleases only me with an eye towards developing my beginner skills or to begin repeat projects for others (or is this where I begin knitting two projects at a time?).Jessie Adairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11979911625200024533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4259865948511087518.post-1110351648148337612016-02-07T05:29:40.263-05:002016-02-07T05:29:40.263-05:00Glad to read that your are literally back on your ...Glad to read that your are literally back on your feet again! Also, the concious and deliberate choice to stay as much as possible in the present moment -- the only place that is real and where we are neither replaying a memory (past) nor imagining an unfolding story (future). In the present there is the power to choose, to see a broader perspective, to appreciate all that is already here and to breath in the gratitude that calms the anxious heart, infuses it with joy and returns us to the place that is our true home. To. This. Very. Moment. There is power in this moment.

I think, as we grow in understanding, in peace, in joy, that we cannot help but radiate loving acceptance and respect. We've all come across people in whose presesence we feel at peace, safe, seen, despite not knowing them well.

To be our best selves is the best that we can have and give. It. Is. I used to have an HP printer, now have a Canon MX340(with the new computer). Never had a problem!! I can get 2 color & 2 b/w for $46..give or take. And free shipping, quick delivery! Once I had to go directly to the store website..inklandstore.com, because I wanted 4 color cartridges. Still reasonably priced, though I did have to pay shipping. You probably never want to buy reman cartridges again, understandably. I will never pay full price for cartridges again!!Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01650080322918612873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4259865948511087518.post-52448029532049730642014-03-04T12:43:56.843-05:002014-03-04T12:43:56.843-05:00Wonderful service! Each time I lose a pet, I swear I will not get another, as the pain is too great. But I always do, because the love of a pet is so elemental in my life.
